Company introduction

Power Generation Division is seeking an experienced Project Coordinator to join the Central Maintenance - Special Projects organization. The ideal candidate will have experience in the construction/renewables industry, demonstrated experience in project management, and experience interfacing with a wide variety of stakeholders across multiple disciplines.

Role summary / purpose

In this role, you will collaborate with and assist a Senior Project Manager in a wide range of Wind, Solar, and Battery Storage projects. You will assist in the overall management of assigned projects to ensure compliance within required budgetary, scheduling, and safety goals. You will support construction work performed by contractors and/or vendors at the project site.

Key responsibilities

  • Participate in project design meetings and propose improvements if necessary
  • Identify potential risks, technical challenges, and develop solutions
  • Plan and manage team goals, project schedules and new information
  • Supervise current projects and coordinate all team members to keep workflow on track
  • Manage project-related paperwork by ensuring all necessary materials are current, properly filed and stored
  • Direct project correspondence by preparing and reviewing project proposals, memos, meeting minutes and emails
  • Communicate with clients to identify and define project requirements, scope and objectives
  • Adhere to budget by monitoring expenses and implementing cost-saving measures
  • Assess productivity, schedule compliance, work quality, and safety performance on assigned projects
  • Participate in walk downs of planned work and validate acceptance of completed work to design requirements
  • Review contractor payment requests and verify constructability
  • Ensure proper resource allocation and assess field status
  • Coordinate project activities with vendors, suppliers, regulatory agencies, local community officials, and the company
  • Support scope control, budget oversight, resolution of technical issues, performance reporting, and work-in-progress tracking
  • Interface with landowners, local regulators, and state agencies
  • Reinforce expectations related to safety, procedure compliance, lessons learned, and corrective action
  • Build and maintain project schedules in Smartsheet
  • Engage with outside vendors to determine material availability and execution schedules
  • Analyze key performance metrics, financial data, and operational trends to support strategic decision-making

Requirements - education & experience

Associate's degree in Engineering, Project Management, Land Surveying, or a related field is required. 0 - 5 years of experience managing project execution, including vendor and contractor coordination.

Nice-to-have / preferred skills

  • PMP certification
  • Technical background with understanding of mechanical/electrical aspects and field construction techniques
  • Schedule Management (Smartsheet)
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • SAP knowledge
  • Maximo knowledge
  • Budget/cost-tracking experience

Employment details - type, location, hours

This is an office-based role located in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, unless travelling to a project. Travel to project sites as required (up to 25%).
