Position Overview
We are looking for a Solar Operations Manager to oversee day-to-day O&M activities across a portfolio of solar facilities in the Colorado Region. This position will lead field resources, coordinate service activities, and help maintain strong plant reliability, availability, and safety performance.
Responsibilities
- Direct field technicians and external O&M contractors across assigned solar sites.
- Plan and prioritize scheduled maintenance, corrective repairs, and field service activities.
- Coordinate troubleshooting and field response for inverter failures, equipment issues, and plant outages.
- Monitor asset performance through SCADA and remote monitoring systems and identify issues requiring field attention.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, and technician activity within the CMMS.
- Coordinate daily schedules, site priorities, and technician resources based on plant conditions.
- Work with engineering and asset management teams to address equipment and performance concerns.
- Manage critical spare parts, tools, and field materials.
- Promote safe work practices and ensure compliance with company and regulatory requirements.
- Provide updates on equipment condition, maintenance needs, and operational risks.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in solar O&M, power generation, field service, and commercial solar (C&I)
- 2+ years leading technicians, contractors, or field service teams.
- Knowledge of solar PV systems, inverters, transformers, combiner boxes, and electrical/mechanical equipment.
- Experience with CMMS, SCADA, or solar monitoring platforms.
- Strong troubleshooting, planning, leadership, and communication skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
- OSHA 10/30 preferred.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to solar facilities across the West Coast.
