Full-time field-based role based in Texas. The Entry or Mid Level Solar Technician will be responsible for learning the day-to-day tasks associated with solar system commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintenance under the guidance of an Experienced Solar Technician.
Expectations/Duties
- 50% of work is expected to be in the Dallas/Ft. Worth metroplex and surrounding counties. 50% travel can be expected throughout Texas, Arkansas, and to a smaller extent other states. Travel is typically 2-3 nights average M-F.
- 45–55-hour work week is typical which includes drive time.
- Work will include break/fix service work, commissioning duties, Preventative Maintenance, and occasionally assisting construction crews under guidance.
- Assist in repair of solar panels, racking, wiring, connectors, inverters, switchgear, and peripheral equipment associated with solar generating facilities.
- Employee will possess or accumulate over time their own basic hand tools.
- Work safely at all times and will be exposed to hazardous electrical, mechanical, and environmental conditions.
- May travel up to 8 hours per day. Workday can occasionally reach or exceed 12 hours.
- Adherence to driving, electrical, construction, utility, and environmental safety protocols.
- Document work performed in service software.
- Track one’s time and accurately record in software platform.
- Certified or willingness to become certified in OSHA 30 (General Safety), OSHA 29 1926/1910 (Fall Protection), and NFPA 70 (Arc Flash).
Abilities
- Knowledge of Ground Mount systems and BESS is preferred.
- Ability and willingness to work in hazardous situations pertaining to electricity, moving and stationary mechanical equipment, and adverse environmental conditions.
- Ability to perform physical demands of solar maintenance which includes reading, seeing, walking, lifting (safely), stooping, reaching, climbing, sitting or standing for long periods of time, and driving long distances.
- Ability to work in adverse weather conditions, heat/cold.
- Willingness to be away from home for a week at a time.
- Basic network communication knowledge.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
- Valid Driver’s License with insurable driving record.

Pay: $24.00 - $32.00 per hour
Expected hours: 45.0 – 55.0 per week
