Title: Project Engineer
Location: Hybrid – Houston, TX; Alpharetta, GA; or Arlington, VA. Approximately 4 days per week in the office.
Target Start Date: September 21, 2026
Type: 6-Month Contract-to-Hire
Join a growing engineering team supporting large-scale renewable energy projects from initial sales handoff through substantial completion. This role offers direct customer interaction, exposure to multiple engineering disciplines, and a defined growth path from Project Engineer to Senior Project Engineer. The company expects its project workload to remain strong over the next one to two years.
Job Description:
The Project Engineer will support the technical execution of renewable energy projects from the initial sales handoff through substantial completion. This individual will serve as a primary point of contact for technical matters involving internal teams and customers, participate in customer meetings several times each week, and track engineering activities across the different phases of each project. Responsibilities include reviewing engineering drawings, supporting site construction, answering technical questions, and coordinating with networking, commissioning, and other project teams. The position requires the ability to manage multiple priorities, respond to urgent needs, and collaborate with several stakeholders simultaneously.
Required Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
- Approximately 3–5 years of relevant experience
- Professional experience working as an Electrical Engineer
- Experience with transformers, inverters, renewable energy, or another energy-generation environment
- Strong customer-facing communication skills
- Ability to serve as the primary technical point of contact for customers and internal teams
- Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and work with several teams simultaneously
- Ability to review engineering drawings
- Ability to travel at least 25%
- USC/GC Holders
- Must be an Electrical Engineer
Bonus/Soft Skills:
- AutoCAD experience for drawing review; advanced AutoCAD skills are not required
- ETAP electrical modeling software experience
- Experience working for a battery energy storage or renewable energy supplier
- Experience with organizations such as Tesla or Sungrow
- Seven or more years of relevant experience may qualify a candidate for consideration at a more senior level
- Bilingual English and Spanish skills
- Outgoing and comfortable communicating directly with customers
- Strong time-management skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks based on urgency
- Sense of urgency and responsiveness
- Comfortable working in a busy, fast-paced environment
- Open to candidates from different professional backgrounds if they possess the required experience and knowledge
