We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Solar Installer to join our dynamic renewable energy team. In this role, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient installation of photovoltaic (solar) systems on residential, commercial, and industrial sites. Your expertise will help advance our mission to promote sustainable energy solutions while ensuring compliance with electrical safety standards and building codes. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work outdoors, develop specialized skills in solar technology, and contribute to the growth of onshore renewable energy projects.

Duties

  • Install photovoltaic systems, including mounting solar panels on rooftops and ground-mounted structures, following detailed blueprints and schematics.
  • Use hand tools, power tools, ladders, and roofing equipment safely and effectively during installation processes.
  • Read electrical blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to accurately wire systems according to NEC (National Electrical Code) standards and NFPA 70 compliance.
  • Perform electrical diagnostics and troubleshooting on photovoltaic systems and related electrical components to identify issues and ensure optimal performance.
  • Connect low voltage and high voltage electrical systems while adhering to electrical safety procedures and NFPA 70 regulations.
  • Conduct system testing using voltmeters, multimeters, and other diagnostic tools to verify proper operation before commissioning.
  • Maintain a clean, organized worksite by following construction site safety protocols, including roof safety procedures and outdoor work best practices.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a solar technician or in electrical work with a focus on photovoltaic system installation.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical blueprint reading, schematics, and construction drawings related to solar projects.
  • Familiarity with high voltage (HV) and low voltage (LV) electrical systems, including NEC standards and NFPA 70 compliance.
  • Experience working as a commercial electrician or in construction site environments is highly preferred.
  • Ability to troubleshoot electrical systems efficiently using voltmeters, hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
  • Demonstrated outdoor work experience with safety awareness for roofing, construction sites, and rooftop installations.
  • Skills in ladder use, fixture installation, electrical diagnostics, and photovoltaic system setup are essential.
  • Valid certifications in electrical safety procedures; additional certifications such as NFPA 70E or roofing experience are advantageous.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to read blueprints accurately and perform precise electrical wiring tasks.
