Lead Installer – Permanent & Seasonal Lighting

Sacramento, California | Full-Time / Seasonal Overtime as Needed

About Christmas Light Pros of Sacramento

Christmas Light Pros of Sacramento has been serving customers since 2008. We’ve built a strong foundation providing professional lighting services and are now entering an exciting stage of growth.

Our goal is to take what we’ve built and expand significantly throughout the Sacramento region, the Bay Area, and ultimately across California. We’re looking for talented people who want more than just a job—people who want the opportunity to grow with the company, help build strong teams, and take on greater responsibility as we expand.

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced, hands-on Lead Installer to join our growing lighting company. This role is for someone who is comfortable working on roofs, ladders, and exterior electrical systems and wants to grow into a larger field leadership position as the company expands.

Our work includes both Trimlight permanent architectural lighting systems and professional seasonal holiday lighting on residential and commercial properties.

The ideal candidate may come from solar installation, roofing, electrical, low-voltage, construction, exterior home improvement, or a similar trade where working safely and efficiently on roofs is part of the job. We are particularly interested in someone who can help us build and develop crews, improve how we operate, and grow with the company.

What You'll Do

Installation & Field Leadership

  • Lead residential and commercial Trimlight permanent lighting installations

  • Install professional seasonal holiday lighting on homes, businesses, trees, landscaping, and other structures

  • Work safely and confidently on roofs, ladders, lifts, and elevated surfaces

  • Install aluminum lighting channel, lighting systems, wiring, controllers, power supplies, and related components

  • Perform basic electrical and low-voltage troubleshooting

  • Read job scopes, installation drawings, measurements, and customer instructions

  • Plan the installation approach before work begins

  • Ensure installations are clean, professional, secure, and consistent with company standards

  • Troubleshoot installation and service issues in the field

  • Complete final system testing and quality-control inspections

Lead & Develop Crews

This is a leadership position, not simply an installer position. You will help:

  • Lead and supervise installation crews

  • Train new installers on installation methods, safety, quality, and customer expectations

  • Assign work effectively among crew members

  • Keep crews productive while maintaining workmanship standards

  • Identify and develop future lead installers

  • Help recruit strong installers as the company grows

  • Refer qualified people from your professional network when appropriate

  • Help us build a reliable field organization capable of supporting continued growth

Someone who already has relationships with solar installers, roofers, electricians, construction workers, or other skilled tradespeople is particularly attractive for this role.

Safety & Professionalism

  • Be highly comfortable working on residential and commercial roofs

  • Understand proper ladder setup and roof-access procedures

  • Use fall protection and other required safety equipment

  • Recognize unsafe conditions and make good field decisions

  • Maintain an organized and safe jobsite

  • Protect customers' roofs, gutters, siding, landscaping, and property

  • Maintain clean and organized trucks, tools, equipment, and materials

What We're Looking For

Strong candidates will have:

  • Professional roof-work experience

  • Experience in solar installation, roofing, electrical, low-voltage, construction, or a related trade

  • Strong mechanical aptitude

  • Basic understanding of electrical systems and troubleshooting

  • Experience using ladders, power tools, hand tools, and jobsite equipment

  • Ability to lead and train other installers

  • Strong problem-solving skills

  • Attention to detail and pride in workmanship

  • Good communication skills

  • Ability to interact professionally with homeowners, commercial customers, and teammates

  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record required

  • Ability to perform physically demanding outdoor work

  • Sales experience is desirable

Solar installation experience is especially desirable because many of the skills translate directly to our work: roof safety, ladder work, exterior electrical systems, routing wire, working efficiently as a crew, and producing clean installations.

The Person We're Looking For

We want someone who takes ownership of the job and thinks beyond simply completing today's installation. Our Lead Installer should consistently consider whether the installation is being done correctly, whether the crew is working safely and efficiently, whether the finished product looks professional, whether everything has been tested before leaving, whether the customer is satisfied, and how the team can improve on the next installation.

Our expectation is simple: treat every property like it's your own and own the job until it's solved.

Growth Opportunity

We are building for significant growth, and this position has the potential to grow with the company.

Potential career path: Lead Installer → Senior Lead / Crew Manager → Field Operations Leadership

As we expand, we expect to add additional installation crews and leadership positions. Someone who demonstrates strong installation ability, leadership, recruiting capability, and operational judgment will have the opportunity to take on substantially more responsibility. We're looking for someone who wants to help build the operation, not simply work in it.

Compensation & Sales Opportunity

Base pay: $30–$35 per hour, plus tips and commission opportunities. Sales experience is desirable. For the right candidate, this role may offer opportunities to earn commissions in addition to base compensation.

We are hiring now.

Why This Opportunity Is Different

You'll have the opportunity to work across two complementary businesses: permanent lighting through professionally installed Trimlight architectural lighting systems that customers can use year-round, and premium seasonal holiday-lighting installations for residential and commercial customers.

This combination creates opportunities for meaningful year-round work while providing significant installation volume during the holiday season. Most importantly, we're building a company where strong field leaders can grow as the business grows.
