BESS Site Manager

AVA Energy has partnered with a growing energy company specialising in battery energy storage systems (BESS), microgrids and EPC project delivery to appoint a Site Manager to support projects across Texas and surrounding states.

The business is focused on delivering critical energy infrastructure, supporting the growth of renewable energy and the increasing demand for reliable, flexible power solutions. This role will take ownership of onsite project execution, overseeing construction activities from mobilisation through to completion and handover, with a strong focus on schedule, quality and safety.

Responsibilities

• Lead onsite delivery of BESS, microgrid and EPC projects from construction mobilisation through to completion and O&M handover.
• Manage site schedules, subcontractors, labour crews, equipment and materials, coordinating civil works, electrical installation and commissioning interfaces to meet key milestones.
• Oversee construction quality, inspections and technical compliance, ensuring work meets project specifications, drawings and applicable North American codes.
• Maintain site safety standards, ensuring compliance with OSHA regulations through safety meetings, inspections and hazard management.
• Coordinate with Project Managers, owners, utilities and contractors, supporting commissioning readiness, final acceptance and project handover.

Must haves

• 5+ years’ experience in onsite EPC project management within BESS, solar PV, power generation or related power infrastructure.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent practical technical experience, with a solid understanding of BESS technologies and medium-voltage distribution systems.
• Proven ability to independently manage construction schedules, subcontractors, site resources, quality and safety.
• Working knowledge of North American standards and codes, including NEC, UL, IEEE and applicable local requirements.
• Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills, with willingness to work onsite and travel across Texas and surrounding states.
