Description

Ground Support Group is hiring a Minnesota-licensed Journeyman Electrician to build solar PV projects across the region. You'll handle skilled installation, termination, and testing work, and you'll help train the next generation of electricians on our crews.

Pay: $55–$60 per hour Reports to: Electrical Foreman

What You'll Do

• Install, terminate, and test AC and DC systems: conduit, wire pulls, combiner boxes, inverters, transformers, and grounding
• Read and interpret blueprints, single-line diagrams, schematics, and specs
• Lead, mentor, and assign tasks to apprentices and helpers
• Troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues during installation and commissioning
• Make sure all work meets the NEC, project specifications, and quality standards
• Support testing, commissioning, and punch-list completion before turnover
• Follow company safety policy and OSHA/MSHA standards, and report incidents and hazards
• Complete daily reports, material requests, and documentation of installed work
• Keep a clean, secure job site at the end of every day

What You Bring

• Valid Minnesota Journeyman Electrician license
• 4+ years (8,000 hours) of electrical construction experience
• High school diploma or GED
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record

Nice to Have

• 2+ years of solar PV construction experience, including utility-scale projects
• Associate degree or equivalent in construction technology
• OSHA 10, forklift certification, NFPA 70E arc flash training, First Aid/CPR

The Details

• Full-time. Longer hours and weekend work as project schedules require.
• Outdoor work on active construction sites. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and work in all weather.
• Travel is in Minnesota to solar projects
