  • Inspect existing HVAC systems, ductwork, electrical panels, and wiring to determine upgrade compatibility and code compliance
  • Evaluate water heater setup (tank/tankless, gas/electric, venting, and plumbing connections) for replacement or upgrade feasibility
  • Take precise measurements, photos, and notes using a tablet or mobile survey app
  • Identify potential obstacles (permitting issues, structural concerns, access limitations) that could affect installation
  • Communicate findings clearly to homeowners and answer basic questions about the survey process
  • Prepare detailed survey reports and upload documentation same-day for the design and installation teams
  • Coordinate scheduling with the office to manage an efficient daily route across multiple homes
  • Maintain a professional, courteous presence when interacting with homeowners

What We're Looking For

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training in construction, electrical, HVAC, or a related trade is a plus
  • Prior experience in home inspection, construction, solar, HVAC, or plumbing/water heating preferred, but we're open to training the right candidate
  • Comfortable working at heights and accessing roofs, attics, and crawlspaces
  • Basic understanding of residential electrical, HVAC, and water heater systems (or willingness to learn)
  • Strong attention to detail and accurate documentation habits
  • Comfortable using a smartphone or tablet for survey software, photos, and reporting
  • Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license with a clean driving record
  • Ability to work independently, manage a daily schedule, and communicate professionally with homeowners
  • Physical ability to climb ladders, walk roofs, and carry survey equipment (up to 40 lbs)
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
