Position Summary
The Solar Operations & Maintenance (O&M) Assistant will support the management of post-construction solar projects by coordinating warranty activities, maintenance operations, owner communications, and resource management. This position will serve as a key support role between internal teams, project owners, subcontractors, and equipment suppliers to ensure solar assets continue operating safely, efficiently, and in accordance with contractual requirements.
The ideal candidate will have experience in utility-scale solar, renewable energy, electrical systems, construction, maintenance operations, or a related technical field, with strong organizational and communication skills.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Support Operations & Maintenance activities for utility-scale solar photovoltaic (PV) projects.
- Coordinate warranty-related activities, including issue tracking, documentation, and follow-up with internal teams, owners, and vendors.
- Assist with owner communications regarding operational updates, maintenance activities, corrective actions, and project status.
- Coordinate schedules, resources, and field activities with maintenance teams and subcontractors.
- Track corrective and preventive maintenance activities to ensure timely completion.
- Maintain accurate records of work orders, inspections, equipment issues, and warranty documentation.
- Assist in monitoring plant performance and identifying operational concerns.
- Support reporting activities including maintenance reports, performance summaries, and KPI tracking.
- Communicate with equipment manufacturers and service providers regarding technical issues and warranty claims.
- Assist with root cause investigations and documentation of corrective actions.
- Support site visits, inspections, and operational reviews as needed.
- Ensure activities are completed in alignment with company safety standards, contractual obligations, and quality expectations.
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in solar energy, renewable energy, electrical systems, construction, operations, maintenance, or a related industry preferred.
- Bilingual in Spanish and English
- Experience coordinating projects, vendors, subcontractors, or field teams preferred.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to communicate professionally with customers, owners, contractors, and internal teams.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and reporting tools.
- Ability to work at current job site & travel to project sites as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting utility-scale solar PV projects.
- Experience with solar O&M, commissioning, field operations, or warranty management.
- Knowledge of SCADA monitoring systems and solar plant performance reporting.
- Experience working with EPC contractors, developers, or renewable energy asset owners.
- Technical background in electrical systems, mechanical systems, or renewable energy.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Renewable Energy, or related technical field preferred but not required.
- Equivalent experience in solar operations, maintenance, electrical systems, construction, or field operations will be considered.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to work in both office and field environments.
- Ability to visit active solar project sites.
- Ability to walk outdoor project areas and perform site observations.
- Ability to work in varying weather conditions.
Pay: From $65,000.00 per year
