Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Solar Technician to join our team specializing in renewable energy projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical systems, photovoltaic system installation, and construction site experience. This role involves outdoor work, rooftop installations, troubleshooting electrical systems, and ensuring compliance with safety standards such as NFPA 70. The Solar Technician will play a vital part in advancing sustainable energy solutions through efficient and safe solar photovoltaic system deployment.

Duties

• Install, maintain, and troubleshoot photovoltaic (PV) solar energy systems on commercial rooftops and ground-mounted sites and water platforms.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings to ensure accurate system installation
• Perform electrical diagnostics and troubleshooting of high voltage and low voltage systems in accordance with NEC and NFPA 70 standards
• Use hand tools, power tools, ladders, and forklifts safely to facilitate installation and maintenance tasks
• Ensure all work complies with electrical safety procedures, including NFPA 70E standards for electrical safety
• Conduct fixture installation, wiring, grounding, and connection of PV modules, inverters, and other system components
• Collaborate with construction teams on site to coordinate activities such as roofing or plumbing related to solar installations
• Maintain detailed documentation of work performed and system configurations for quality assurance and future troubleshooting
• Adhere to project timelines while maintaining high standards of safety and quality in outdoor environments

Experience

• Proven experience working as a solar technician or in electrical diagnostics within renewable energy or construction sectors
• Strong knowledge of high voltage and low voltage electrical systems, NEC regulations, and blueprint reading skills
• Experience with photovoltaic system installation on rooftops or ground-mounted sites in outdoor settings
• Familiarity with electrical safety procedures including NFPA 70E compliance
• Construction site experience including roofing, plumbing, or general construction work preferred
• Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, ladders, forklifts, and other equipment safely during installation activities
• Prior experience working outdoors in various weather conditions is highly desirable
• Knowledge of NFPA 70 standards for electrical work and troubleshooting electrical systems is essential
• Pay is dependable on experience.

Requirements

• A valid Florida driver's license with a clean record.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen.

Pay: $20.00 - $28.00 per hour
