Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Solar Installer to join our team in advancing renewable energy solutions. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with photovoltaic system installation, electrical work, and construction site operations. This role involves outdoor work on various projects, including rooftop and ground-mounted solar systems, requiring adherence to safety standards and technical specifications. The Solar Installer will play a vital role in ensuring the efficient and safe deployment of solar energy systems, contributing to sustainable energy initiatives.
Duties
- Install photovoltaic systems on rooftops and ground sites, following blueprints and schematics.
- Connect high voltage and low voltage electrical systems in compliance with NEC and NFPA 70 standards.
- Use hand tools, power tools, ladders, and forklifts safely to perform installations and adjustments.
- Read electrical blueprints and schematics accurately to guide installation processes.
- Troubleshoot electrical systems, diagnose issues, and perform necessary repairs or adjustments.
- Ensure all installations meet electrical safety procedures and building codes.
- Assist with fixture installation, roofing, plumbing, and other construction-related tasks as needed.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment throughout the project lifecycle
- Comply with all safety protocols related to electrical safety procedures and outdoor work environments.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a solar technician, commercial electrician, or in related electrical construction roles.
- Strong knowledge of photovoltaic system installation, electrical diagnostics, blueprint reading, and troubleshooting electrical systems.
- Familiarity with high voltage, low voltage wiring, NFPA 70 compliance, and NEC standards.
- Ability to read schematics accurately and interpret technical drawings for installation purposes.
- Experience working on construction sites with roofing or plumbing is preferred
- Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, ladders, forklifts, and other construction equipment.
- Knowledge of electrical safety procedures applicable to outdoor renewable energy projects.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and lift up to 50 pounds as required.
- Valid driver’s license with reliable transportation and a clean driving record is required.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen is required.
- Pay is dependent upon experience.
