About the Company
A rapidly growing power infrastructure and EPC construction organization is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support the execution of large-scale substation, battery energy storage, renewable energy and electrical infrastructure projects.
About the Role
This is a hands-on, field-based opportunity working alongside Project Managers, construction leaders, engineers, subcontractors, vendors and customers throughout the complete project lifecycle. This position is ideal for an early-to-mid-career construction professional who wants broader project responsibility, exposure to technically complex multimillion-dollar projects and a clear path toward becoming a Project Manager.
Responsibilities
- Assist with project planning, scheduling, budgeting and resource coordination throughout all phases of construction
- Coordinate daily activities between field personnel, engineers, subcontractors, vendors, customers and internal teams
- Support onsite construction and installation activities
- Track project progress and maintain reports, logs, drawings and other project documentation
- Assist with procurement, material tracking and contract administration
- Help identify and resolve issues affecting schedule, cost, quality or project execution
- Participate in quality inspections, risk assessments and field problem-solving
- Support compliance with safety requirements, technical specifications and quality standards
- Participate in customer meetings and project presentations
- Develop the technical, operational and client-facing skills necessary to manage projects independently
Qualifications
- Experience supporting construction, engineering, renewable energy, utility or infrastructure projects
- Working knowledge of construction processes and project management fundamentals
- Ability to interpret construction drawings, schedules and technical specifications
- Strong organizational, communication and multitasking skills
- Ability to work effectively with field teams, engineers, contractors, vendors and customers
- Comfort working onsite in outdoor and potentially remote construction environments
- Willingness to travel extensively and transition between project locations
Preferred Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related field
- Previous experience as an Assistant Project Manager, Project Engineer, Field Engineer, Project Coordinator or Assistant Superintendent
- Experience with substations, battery energy storage systems, renewable energy, electrical infrastructure, utilities, heavy civil or industrial construction
- Familiarity with scheduling, budgeting, procurement, materials management, QA/QC or contract administration
Pay range and compensation package
Base salary of $100,000–$130,000 plus project incentives generally ranging from $5,000–$20,000 per assignment, company-provided housing or enhanced per diem, company-paid rotational travel, company vehicle, cell phone allowance, and additional comprehensive employee benefits.
