Job Title: Safety Manager

Location: On Site - Houston, Texas

Salary: $100,000-$150,000 + Benefits and Perks

Join a leader in the construction industry, dedicated to executing complex projects with a strong focus on safety and regulatory compliance. Our client specializes in large-scale solar and energy projects delivered through EPC contracts, shaping the future of sustainable infrastructure. As a Safety Manager, you’ll play a critical role in fostering a culture of safety, ensuring all operations meet OSHA standards, and leading best practices on dynamic worksites in Houston, Texas.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and manage site-specific safety programs for all phases of construction projects.
  • Monitor compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety procedures throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Conduct jobsite audits, safety inspections, and risk assessments to proactively identify hazards.
  • Lead safety training sessions for employees and subcontractors, emphasizing solar and EPC-specific protocols.
  • Investigate incidents, accidents, and near-misses, preparing detailed reports and recommending corrective actions.
  • Ensure proper documentation and maintenance of safety records in accordance with regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with project management and field teams to cultivate a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
  • Coordinate with third-party inspectors and contribute to pre-task planning for high-risk activities.

Must-Have Skills:

  • Comprehensive knowledge of OSHA standards and construction safety protocols.
  • Proven experience managing safety on construction projects.
  • Strong incident investigation, reporting, and root cause analysis skills.
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities for training and enforcement purposes.
  • Ability to perform site audits, inspections, and coordinate with field teams.

Nice-to-Have Skills:

  • Hold a CHST (Construction Health and Safety Technician) or STSC (Safety Trained Supervisor Construction) certification.
  • Bachelor's Degree, Occupational Health and Safety or similar.
  • Experience with large-scale utility solar or renewable energy construction sites.
  • Advanced knowledge of state and federal regulations beyond OSHA (e.g., EPA, NFPA).
  • Ability to develop and implement innovative safety training programs.
  • Familiarity with digital safety management systems and incident tracking tools.
  • Additional certifications such as CSP or first aid/CPR instructor status.
