SOLAR TECHNICIAN WITH EXPERIENCE

Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated BILINGUAL SPA/ENG Solar Technician with extensive experience to join our dynamic renewable energy team. In this role, you will be responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing photovoltaic (solar) systems across various commercial and onshore renewable energy sites. Your expertise in electrical systems, blueprint reading, and safety procedures will ensure the successful deployment of solar projects while adhering to industry standards such as NEC (National Electrical Code) and NFPA 70 compliance. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to sustainable energy solutions while working outdoors in diverse environments.

Responsibilities

• Install photovoltaic systems on rooftops and ground-mounted sites, ensuring proper wiring, fixture installation, and system integration
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical diagrams to accurately execute installation plans
• Troubleshoot electrical systems using diagnostic tools and techniques to identify faults in low voltage and high voltage circuits
• Conduct electrical diagnostics and repairs on existing solar installations to optimize performance and safety
• Follow electrical safety procedures in accordance with NEC, NFPA 70 standards, and company policies during all phases of work
• Use hand tools, power tools, ladders, forklifts, and other construction equipment safely and effectively on construction sites
• Perform roofing work as needed for rooftop solar installations and coordinate with roofing teams when necessary
• Maintain detailed documentation of work performed, including incident reports, inspection logs, and system commissioning records

Requirements

• Proven experience working as a solar technician or in related electrical roles within the renewable energy sector
• Strong knowledge of photovoltaic system installation, electrical blueprint reading, schematics, and construction site procedures
• Familiarity with high voltage (HV) and low voltage (LV) electrical systems, including troubleshooting electrical issues
• Working knowledge of NEC (National Electrical Code), NFPA 70 standards, and electrical safety procedures for outdoor work environments
• Experience with commercial electrician tasks such as fixture installation, wiring, conduit bending, and plumbing integration when necessary
• Ability to read blueprints accurately and use ladders safely for roof access during installations
• Construction experience including roofing work, site preparation, and working at heights with appropriate safety measures
• Valid forklift certification or experience operating forklifts on construction sites is preferred
• Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose issues efficiently using electrical diagnostics tools
• Physical ability to perform outdoor work in various weather conditions while maintaining safety standards
