Job Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and highly organized Solar Project Manager to lead the planning, execution, and completion of large-scale solar energy projects. This role offers an exciting opportunity to drive renewable energy initiatives forward by managing cross-functional teams, overseeing project timelines, budgets, and ensuring compliance with electrical codes and safety standards. Duties

  • Lead the full lifecycle of solar project development from permitting through commissioning, ensuring adherence to project schedules and budgets.
  • Coordinate with engineering teams on system design, schematic review, and electrical blueprint reading to optimize project performance.
  • Manage construction schedules using Primavera P6 or similar project management software, ensuring timely completion of all phases.
  • Oversee construction site activities, including reviewing construction drawings, managing subcontractors, and ensuring safety protocols are followed in compliance with NEC (National Electrical Code) and NFPA 70 standards.
  • Conduct cost management activities such as construction estimating, managing project budgets, and controlling expenses throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Facilitate permitting phases by preparing documentation for local authorities and ensuring all necessary approvals are obtained efficiently.
  • Review contracts and manage project scope changes while maintaining strong communication with stakeholders.
  • Monitor electrical systems installation, schematic accuracy, and adherence to electrical building codes during construction.
  • Lead team efforts in construction management, scheduling coordination, and quality assurance to deliver projects that meet or exceed client expectations.
  • Utilize Microsoft Office tools for reporting, documentation, and communication purposes; maintain detailed records of project progress and issues.
  • Ensure NFPA 70 compliance across all electrical installations and conduct regular site inspections for safety and quality assurance.

Experience

  • Proven experience managing large-scale electrical or solar projects within the renewable energy sector or construction industry.
  • Extensive knowledge of electrical engineering principles, system design, schematics reading, and blueprint interpretation.
  • Strong proficiency with project management software such as Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, HeavyBid or similar tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining strict timelines and budgets.
  • Hands-on construction site experience with a focus on electrical systems installation and safety standards compliance.
  • Familiarity with construction estimating processes, contract management, and cost control strategies.
  • Deep understanding of electrical building codes including NEC regulations and NFPA 70 standards related to solar installations.
  • Excellent team leadership skills with the ability to motivate diverse teams across different phases of project execution.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in schedule coordination, document review, and quality control processes.
  • Effective communication skills for liaising with clients, contractors, permitting authorities, and internal teams.
