Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Roof Lead solar installer to join our team in advancing renewable energy solutions. We require a minimum of 6 years of solar installation experience and/or 3 years of leading a solar crew.

As a Roof Lead, you will need to have the technical know-how, confidence, and leadership skills to oversee the installation of solar systems on residential rooftops. You will need to ensure that your crew follows all safety, quality, and timing standards throughout each project. Your expertise in solar equipment, electrical systems, roof installations and troubleshooting will be essential to fulfill your role.

Duties

  • Lead and coordinate the installation of photovoltaic systems on rooftops, ensuring adherence to local safety protocols and project specifications
  • Read and interpret plan sets and technical drawings to facilitate accurate installations
  • Perform electrical diagnostics and troubleshooting on high voltage and low voltage systems in compliance with NEC (National Electrical Code) and NFPA 70 standards
  • Use hand tools, power tools, ladders, and forklifts safely to install racking, inverters, and other system components
  • Conduct electrical work including correctly wiring components, ensuring tight connections, and system grounding that meet local safety code standards
  • Ensure all work complies with electrical safety procedures, NFPA 70 standards, local building and utility codes, as well as A&J quality standards in a timely fashion.
  • Direct and collaborate with team members on tasks such taking photos, documenting damages/issues, communicating with administration staff
  • Troubleshoot electrical systems efficiently to resolve issues during and post-installation
  • Maintain detailed documentation of installation processes, safety checks, and system diagnostics for quality assurance

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 6 years of solar installation experience and/or 3 years of leading a roof crew
  • Strong leadership skills, independence and communication
  • Proven experience as a residential electrician/solar technician with in-depth knowledge of photovoltaic and energy storage system installation
  • Strong understanding of electrical schematics, and construction drawings
  • Hands-on experience working with high voltage and low voltage electrical systems in outdoor environments
  • Familiarity with NEC (National Electrical Code), NFPA 70 compliance standards, and electrical safety procedures
  • Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, ladders, etc. safely on construction sites or rooftop environments
  • Skilled in troubleshooting electrical systems using diagnostic tools and techniques
  • Ability to work independently or lead a team while maintaining high safety standards in outdoor conditions

This position is intended for serious inquiries only, from those who fit our mandatory experience requirements. We do not intend to train a new-hire for this position on solar installations, but to find an experienced lead that can step into the needed leadership role with knowledge and experience.

Pay: $24.00 - $25.00 per hour
