Job description

SUMMARY:

As a Solar Electrician Apprentice, you will work under the supervision of experienced electricians and technicians to learn the skills necessary for installing and maintaining solar photovoltaic (PV) systems. This apprenticeship will provide you with a comprehensive understanding of electrical systems, solar technology, and safety practices in the renewable energy field. Mars Energy will cover the cost of apprenticeship enrollment, computer/books, and class time as well as provide on-site training for 40 hours per week.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist in the installation of solar panels, inverters, and related electrical systems.
• Learn to read and interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, and technical documentation.
• Support troubleshooting and repair of solar PV systems.
• Participate in testing electrical systems for functionality and safety.
• Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
• Attend training sessions and workshops to enhance knowledge and skills in solar technology.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of projects.
• MUST have reliable transportation and tools necessary to complete electrical tasks.

EDUCATION:_

• High school diploma required
• Electrical fundamentals training preferred
• OSHA 10 preferred

EXPERIENCE:_

• General construction experience required
• Solar experience strongly preferred
• Active apprenticeship card preferred

SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES:_

• Ability to report to each job site -Reliable transportation and tools necessary to complete electrical tasks
• Ability to work on rooftops of any height and pitch
• Ability to lift, pull, and push materials up to 70lbs. to complete assigned job task
• Possesses strong teamwork skills
• Possesses strong communication skills and attention to detail
• Ability to pass criminal background check
