About the Role

We're looking for an experienced Solar Installer to join our team serving the Finger Lakes region. This role focuses on residential and light commercial rooftop and ground-mount installations. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience across the full scope of these installation types — not just utility-scale or solar farm work.

Important: Solar Farm/ Utility solar experience only will not be considered_. We are specifically seeking residential and light commercial installation experience._

Responsibilities

• Install PV systems on residential and light commercial roofs and ground mounts
• Perform racking, module mounting, and electrical wiring in accordance with NEC code
• Read and interpret site plans, electrical schematics, and permit drawings
• Work safely at heights, on ladders, and on various roof types (shingle, metal, tile, flat)
• Troubleshoot and resolve installation issues in the field
• Coordinate with crew leads and project managers to meet job timelines
• Ensure all work meets local AHJ, utility interconnection, and safety standards
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site

Requirements

• Minimum 2+ years of hands-on residential and/or light commercial solar installation experience (required — solar farm/utility-scale-only experience does not meet this requirement)
• Working knowledge of NEC code as it applies to residential/commercial PV systems
• Comfortable working on rooftops and at heights in all weather conditions
• OSHA 10 or 30 certification preferred
• Valid driver's license with clean driving record
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs and perform physically demanding work
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications

• NABCEP certification preferred (or working toward it)
• Experience with battery storage/backup systems
• Electrician's helper experience or electrical background
