Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated TWIC Certified Solar Installer to join our dynamic renewable energy team. This role is essential for executing photovoltaic system installations on various commercial and industrial sites, ensuring safety, quality, and compliance with all relevant standards. As a TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential) certified professional, you will be responsible for installing, troubleshooting, and maintaining solar energy systems with precision and expertise. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the growth of onshore renewable energy projects while working in a fast-paced outdoor environment.
MUST CURRENTLY HAVE TWIC CARD
Will also need to complete a 10 panel drug screening
Duties
- Install photovoltaic solar systems on rooftops and ground-mounted sites following detailed blueprints and schematics.
- Read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to ensure accurate system setup.
- Use hand tools, power tools, ladders, and safety equipment to perform electrical wiring, fixture installation, and system assembly.
- Conduct electrical diagnostics and troubleshooting of low voltage and high voltage systems to identify faults or inefficiencies.
- Ensure all work complies with NFPA 70 (National Electrical Code) standards, NEC regulations, and NFPA 70E electrical safety procedures.
- Perform roofing work as needed for mounting systems securely on various structures while maintaining safety protocols.
- Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot electrical systems, diagnose issues, and implement effective solutions efficiently.
Experience
- Proven experience working as a solar technician or commercial electrician with a strong background in photovoltaic system installation.
- Demonstrated knowledge of electrical blueprint reading, schematics, and construction site procedures.
- Hands-on experience with high voltage and low voltage electrical systems within outdoor or rooftop environments.
- Familiarity with NFPA 70 compliance standards, electrical safety procedures, and troubleshooting electrical systems.
- Construction site experience including roofing work, fixture installation, and working at heights using ladders safely.
- Strong understanding of the National Electrical Code (NEC) related to renewable energy systems.
- Prior work experience in onshore renewable energy projects or outdoor construction environments preferred.
