Field QA/QC Inspector
Location: Project Sites – Central California (Visalia, Porterville, Fresno, Bakersfield)

Position Summary
Virtus Renewables is seeking motivated, detail-oriented individuals to join our growing team as Entry-Level Field QA/QC Inspectors. This position plays an important role in ensuring utility-scale solar projects are installed to the highest quality standards.
No prior solar experience is required. We provide hands-on training and standardized inspection procedures (SOPs) that teach you exactly what to inspect and how to document your findings.
This is an outdoor position that requires walking active construction sites, working in varying weather conditions, and maintaining a strong focus on quality, safety, and attention to detail.

Primary Responsibilities:
Field Inspections
- Perform quality inspections on utility-scale solar installations using Virtus inspection procedures.
- Inspect solar modules, racking systems, wiring, hardware, and general workmanship.
- Verify installations meet project specifications and company quality standards.
- Identify and document installation deficiencies using a mobile device or tablet.
- Take photographs and accurately record inspection findings.
Documentation
- Complete daily inspection reports.
- Track and document deficiencies requiring corrective action.
- Verify completed repairs and re-inspect corrected work.
- Maintain organized inspection records and project documentation.
Team Support
- Work closely with field supervisors and construction crews to communicate quality findings.
- Follow company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Participate in daily safety meetings and project briefings.
- Assist with continuous improvement of field quality processes.
Safety
- Follow all OSHA, client, and Virtus safety requirements.
- Maintain situational awareness while working on active construction sites.
- Wear required PPE and work safely around construction equipment and electrical systems.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- Previous construction, warehouse, manufacturing, agriculture, or labor experience is a plus but not required.
- Solar experience is not required.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to follow written procedures and checklists.
- Comfortable using a smartphone or tablet for reporting.
- Good communication skills.
- Valid driver's license with reliable transportation.
- Ability to pass any required background checks or site access requirements.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to work outdoors for extended periods in hot, cold, windy, or dusty conditions.
- Ability to walk several miles each day across uneven terrain.
- Ability to stand, bend, kneel, climb ladders, and lift up to 50 pounds.
- Comfortable working in direct sunlight and varying weather conditions.
- Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
Training
Virtus provides paid, hands-on training covering:

No previous QA/QC experience is necessary—we'll teach you everything you need to succeed.
