Solar & BESS Technician II

Role Overview

Seeking an experienced Solar Technician II to ensure optimal operation and maintenance of utility-scale solar PV sites and substations in Southern California. The technician will perform corrective, preventive, and emergency maintenance on equipment such as inverters, trackers, combiner boxes, PV modules, and electrical systems, ensuring safety and compliance. Responsibilities include troubleshooting, operating power plant systems, assisting with site vegetation management, and supporting administrative tasks like writing procedures and work orders. The role requires strong technical skills, electrical and mechanical knowledge, safety awareness, and the ability to lead and train field personnel.

Qualifications & Skills

• High school diploma or GED; 2+ years of solar O&M or power generation experience, or 5+ years in power industry.
• Hands-on experience with electrical systems, substation operations, and troubleshooting high/medium/low voltage equipment.
• Knowledge of safety protocols, electrical theory, and environmental standards.
• Proficiency with computers, SCADA, and maintenance management systems.
• Strong communication, teamwork, problem-solving, and leadership abilities.
